Trainee Kitchen Designer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Trainee Kitchen Designer, we are looking for an individual with a keen interest in kitchen design and in the development of products and services. This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful, growing Design Team based at Royal Strathclyde Blindcraft Industries (RSBi), which is part of City Building (Glasgow) LLP with great scope for personal and professional development.
You will have a keen eye for detail, coupled with astute technical ability and be able to work on your own initiative and to tight deadlines. You will be an effective communicator who has the drive to embrace new skills and technology. You must be prepared to undertake any relevant training and formal qualification as deemed necessary.
Responsibilities will include as a minimum:
• Reading architects plans, extracting appropriate information to design and price suitable kitchen layouts to meets client requirements.
• Sizing new build sites/existing properties to produce accurate surveys, linking information from layouts back to excel spreadsheet.
• Candidate will be responsible for managing contracts therefore a high level of confidence and communication skills are required – a relationship with clients, contractors, suppliers, architects, trades etc is essential.
• To use CAD based software to create kitchen plans and 3D images quickly and efficiently.
• Have an understanding of new products/materials that would be beneficial to the business.
• Excellent time management and planning is essential as contracts will be running in conjunction with individual projects.
• To prepare reports, designs, quotes, sample boards and presentations as required
• Co-operate with and contribute to design and development team projects.
• Co-operate with the introduction of new procedures and/or new equipment/technology.
