Senior Environmental Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented Senior Environmental Officer.
Working in a fast paced and changing organisation, you will be responsible for promoting and delivering a comprehensive and professional environmental management service.
You will be the lead officer in the continuing accreditation of ISO14001 standards and in the bi-annual external audits of the Environmental Management System. This will involve liaising with City Building managers and operatives and co-ordinating responses to the external auditors. You will be responsible for managing the programme of environmental audits and inspections of premises, construction sites, work activities and waste areas. You will also be responsible for managing the collating and checking of waste data and energy consumption data using excel and other software programmes providing and presenting information to the Executive Team and Board as required.
You will update environmental legislation information and the environmental aspects of the organisation’s activities. You will be required to develop and implement strategy relating to environmental issues and provide a professional environmental advice service to City Building and our partners.
As our Environmental Champion you will assist operational managers in communicating and compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, policies and procedures.
You will manage and develop the team of Environmental Officers to enhance the environmental performance for the organisation.
You will be required to be flexible in work activities and contribute to tasks such as contractor vetting, always representing City Building’s interests.
You will be an experienced environmental professional with a relevant environmental diploma/degree qualification. You will demonstrate experience of environmental issues in the construction industry. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A full current driving licence is essential for this role.
Salary placing will be reflected by skills and experience and progression will be subject to a competency-based framework.
