Quality Assurance Administrator (Asbestos)
Salary – SCP27-30 (£28,080-£31,045)
We have an exciting new opportunity within our Asbestos Team for a Quality Assurance Administrator to support the Technical Manager and assist the smooth running of a small but busy team of Surveyors. This team within City Building works for various Housing Associations and Clients carrying out Refurbishment and Management Surveys within domestic properties.
A key feature of the role is the production and checking of Asbestos Surveys (using Alpha Tracker software). You will be involved in every stage of the Survey process from Client liaison, arranging Surveys using our diary system, dealing with Clients and Customers when problems arise, receiving and processing sample data, drawing and incorporating detailed Visio site plans and sending back completed reports to Clients.
You will monitor timescales, reporting progress to Clients and closing jobs in a timely manner. You will report any non-conformances or persistent Survey quality issues to the Technical Manager and Assistant Technical Manager. You will be expected to form a close working relationship with our approved list of sub-contractors to optimise their service provision to City Building and to monitor and QC the Surveys and Samples they return to us. You will assist in coordinating and scheduling Survey diaries for a team of Asbestos Surveyors. Close liaison with customers , Clients and Surveyors is essential to ensure diaries are optimised. You will also undertake other office administration duties as required.
In addition to your office-based duties you must be willing and able to carry out occasional Sampling and Surveying duties when business needs require it. Your skills will provide the team with extra flexibility and resilience and add value for our Clients.
In order to achieve the high standards that we desire you must be highly organised and have an exceptional attention to detail. You will be customer focused, have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and have a good telephone manner. You must be able to work independently and pro-actively to meet targets/timescales but also work as part of a small team carrying out whatever duties are requested to ensure the smooth running of the business. You must have excellent knowledge of Asbestos: The Survey Guide – HSG264 and be well versed in the special nature and complexities of the Asbestos industry including UKAS accreditation.
As a minimum requirement you must hold the P402 or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Surveying and have experience as a working on-site Surveyor. You will be able to demonstrate experience as a Quality Assurance Administrator / Survey Report Checker (or similar role) within the past 2 years and must be proficient using MS Word, Excel and Visio (for drawing) and have experience working with Asbestos Survey software – experience using Alpha Tracker is desirable.
