City Building provides a range of repairs and maintenance, manufacturing, construction and refurbishment activities for Glasgow City Council and Wheatley Housing Group’s citizens and customers as well as other public, private and third sector organisations.

City Building operates both the largest construction craft apprenticeship programme in Scotland, and Royal Strathclyde Blindcraft Industries (RSBi), one of the largest supported manufacturing businesses in Europe, around 200 people, more than 50% of whom have a disability.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gas Engineer to work within our modernised Responsive and Emergency Repairs Service.
The Gas Engineer will be required to operate across the Glasgow and Central Belt areas working on our gas maintenance programme. You will be required to undertake landlords gas safety checks, servicing, breakdowns, and reactive repairs with a proactive focus on achieving our regulatory timescales, ensuring the needs and safety of our customers always comes first.
The successful candidate must be fully conversant with up-to-date issues relating to the gas industry. You will be required to use our mobile handheld technology systems daily as well as ensuring materials, plant, and tools necessary are controlled and replenished to allow a “get it right first” approach to works.
You must ensure all mandatory documentation is complete to a high standard to ensure compliance with industry and business procedures.
You will carry out all aspects of these works in line with the current building standards, ensuring compliance with all health and safety legislation, and all relevant City Building policies.

Proven experience in a Gas role and the following qualifications are essential to the role CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, HTR1, CKR1. CMDDA1, G3 Unvented Hot Water, LPG, Commercial Gas, Air Source Heat Pumps, and Solar Thermal are advantageous.

You must possess a full UK driving licence.

You will be required to have a flexible approach to this role. Your contracted hours of work will be 35 hours per week to be worked to suit the needs of the business.
