We work closely with housing officers and clients to quickly agree programmes of work and use our multi trade teams, including specialist areas of asbestos, electrical and gas trade operatives to implement clear work plans within agreed timescales.
Our investment teams have the scale and flexibility of our multi-disciplinary workforce with broad experience to allow us to deliver complex projects of all scope and size across a variety of built forms. These teams are able to offer expertise for refurbishments of any size.
As part of an investment-led cosmetic improvement initiative, 19 residential blocks in Barmulloch underwent an external upgrade.
While structurally sound, the properties received a full facelift, including external cleaning and repainting.
Works followed a clear sequence: scaffolding erection, power washing with specialist cleaning agents, minor render repairs where necessary, and finally, painting.
Once completed, each block was snagged, signed off by the client, and the scaffold removed.
The project delivered a visible uplift to the area’s appearance, supporting wider regeneration goals while avoiding disruptive structural interventions.

As the home of Glasgow’s Community and Safety Services, the Eastgate office block is used by around 500 people to maintain public safety and wellbeing.
It is now also one of the city’s ‘smartest’ office blocks, incorporating advanced technology that enables energy-consuming features, including heating and lighting, to communicate with each other and switch off when rooms are unoccupied.
Constructed 12 years ago, the building included impressive sustainability measures, such as solar panels and heat pumps, but the technology controlling its heating, hot water and ventilation had become outdated.
They were also operating in isolation, creating inefficiency.
City Building’s expert Building Management Systems team spent three months upgrading and integrating these systems before connecting them with the building’s electricity meters and a new LED-lighting system.
Their work has delivered a fully automated building management system that can be controlled and monitored in real-time using a laptop, desktop, tablet or smart phone and will significantly reduce energy consumption, lowering both bills and carbon emissions.
