About

The proposed development site lies within the Maryhill area of Glasgow to the north west of the city centre and a short distance from the main artery of Maryhill Road, connecting the area to the wider city.

The proposed site lies within the area of Maryhill know as The Valley. The site is mostly on a south-facing slope and is bounded by Garbraid Avenue to the south, Guthrie Street to the west, the Forth & Clyde Canal to the north east and Stirrat Street to the west. On the west side of Stirrat Street the ground forms a steep embankment falling to the River Kelvin.

The boundary to the north will be formed by a new road, running east/west across the site, from Collina Street to Stirrat Street. This new “Central Avenue” will replace the existing Niven Street and part of Burnhouse Street.
