Assistant Technical Manager (Asbestos)

Due to the expansion of our Asbestos Section we are currently looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Technical Manager.

Salary – £34,138

You will assist the Technical Manager in providing technical advice and support to Clients, deal with enquiries, emergencies and issues quickly and appropriately as they arise.

You will be responsible for ensuring all survey work complies with HSG264 (and all other relevant Regulations, ACoPs and Guidance.

You will manage documents including procedures, manuals and templates, develop and improve quality and technical systems with a view to achieving UKAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 in the future.  You will oversee the day-to-day running of the Asbestos Surveyors therefore good organisational skills and operational experience in this area is required.  You will also have direct responsibility for operating the Quality/Technical systems on a day-to-day basis.  You will be required to carry out sampling and refurbishment surveys as required.  You will be responsible for coordinating audits and reinspections on a day-to-day basis therefore experience in this area is essential.

With experience of working for an organisation accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17020:2012, you must have experience in all areas of asbestos survey work including survey planning, resourcing, technical specifications, quality control and reporting and ACM assessment criteria.

You must have a strong technical background with significant demonstrable experience working within this role within the asbestos industry.  You will be an experienced Surveyor with more than 5 years’ experience, preferably with particular experience in carrying out Refurbishment surveys in domestic properties working with electronic surveying software.

The BOHS P402 qualification is a pre-requisite. RSPH Level 3 Certificate in Asbestos Inspection Surveying is desirable as is BOHS P405 “Management of Asbestos in Buildings”.  Ideally you will hold the COC – Asbestos (Certificate of Competence in Asbestos).

You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and. You will be highly focused with a strong attention to detail.  You will have excellent IT skills especially MS Word and Excel and experience with CAD or Visio or other drawing software.

You will be keen and enthusiastic, with a flexible approach to work and must have good organisational skills. Working hours are 37 per week to be worked flexibly to suit the needs of the business.  We offer excellent terms and conditions of employment.
