Sponsored Lunch Raises £29,500 for Local Hospice

GLASGOW—September 7, 2007

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow is delighted to announce that their recent Sporting Lunch, sponsored by construction firm City Building, has raised a grand total of £29,500.

The event, which took place in the city’s Hilton Hotel on Friday September 7th, was hosted by TV personality Dougie Donnelly and has provided a great boost to Hospice funds.

With former Rangers manager Graeme Souness and Olympic Champion sprinter Allan Wells in attendance the event was one to remember and has been hailed as a great success by everyone involved. An interactive sporting quiz and charity auction on the day helped to achieve the impressive grand total.

City Building’s Chairman, Gerry Leonard, commented “We were keen to support this event for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice - just as the Hospice’s vital work makes a real difference to the lives of the people of Glasgow, City Building’s commitment to social inclusion and to providing opportunities for local communities and young people also gives life-changing opportunities to a range of individuals, from all backgrounds and with different abilities and gives them the chance to discover their full potential.”
